Meet the Slow Team

Learn a little bit more about us.

We aren’t that Slow, but we like to live slowly and allow mindful living to come into all areas of our lives. We work rather at serene pace.

Maybe you want soon to make part of our family and enjoy the rhythm.

  • In-house yoga teacher & founder

I have done many different things through the years. I started out as a Communication Designer and wondered off through a journey of Yoga and writing.

I lived in Sweden for 20 years and taught Yoga for 10, co facilitating retreats. I took my teacher training in 2013 through Sama Yoga School in Sweden and Bali and became a Write Your Self guide a couple of years later.

All along I´ve worked with the father of my children in his company where I´ve learnt the wonders of entrepreneurship and hardship which allowed me to understand and dismantle the paradigma of what problems truly are.

I am divorced mother of 2, based now in Lisbon, my home. I am moved and deeply humbled by the power of abrupt life shifts and the need to bow to life and let it do the work with you - and sometimes - for you.

The most challenging (health) issues aren't the ones that are supposed to bend you, but help you stay in your track.

I am here now, following the journey of the slow art of living, a life purpose vessel.

Maybe you’d like to hop along?

  • Slow Kitchen Teacher & In-chief

Food is always the beginning of stories, experiences, and memories. Flavors that bring comfort, moments of sharing, and sublime discoveries. Cooking has always been an integral part of my life, a connection to the joy of living. To live it fully with myself, with my family, friends, and others.

Amid all of this, I never cease to be a designer in the way I think, plan, and view food. I approach it with an aesthetic sensibility, ensuring that all senses are nourished. Everything unfolds at the right pace, with the urgency of deliberate slowness.

Slow Teaching

At Slow, we are guided by a community of heartful teachers—each bringing a unique voice. Our in-house and Guest teachers teachers embody the essence of Slow, curating practices rooted in presence and growth whose perspectives and wisdom enrich our shared experience.

Together, they create a space for healing, learning, and connection, inspiring a deeper way of living.

  • Inhouse yoga teacher

After 52 years I truly value the small instants of my present day. They are my silver linen.

Small pieces and tiny bits that aggregate the layers of my life and make it worth living. Through my Yoga practice I have learnt to breath and that gave me the freedom to understand that all is well and perfect right now.

I am master in the Yoga tradition through The Integral Yoga Association of Portugal with over 500hr of teachings certified by Yoga Alliance. Along side with my Yoga classes at Holmes Place, where I teach twice a week, I work as an image editor at TVI .

Mother of 2, a beautiful daughter and a sweet pup, I align deeply with the art of Slow, mindfully enjoying moment after moment.

Actress, yoga instructor, movement director, and filmmaker.

My passion for movement and for knowing and telling stories started early.

Art entered my life in childhood, but it was only in 2013 that a close friend told me about Yoga, after a delicate moment in my life.

I decided to try it and fell in love. I dedicated 4 years of practice, workshops, and courses in Reiki I, ThetaHealing, Sound Healing, Chakras, and more.

In 2018, I embarked on my first Yoga training, and I was the only one who didn't want to be a teacher. I went to expand my knowledge, as it had always connected deeply with my work in the performing arts, and I wanted to live Yoga to the fullest.

I wanted to bring it more and more as a tool for my acting work and in life.

This deep dive was so intense that when I returned from the training, there was no way not to share all that knowledge.

I started teaching my friends, and suddenly friends of friends wanted to take classes with me. I began organizing large classes around Rio de Janeiro.

Amazing brands invited me to work with them: Animale, Gshow on TV Globo, PeePou, Lenny Niemeyer, Abrand, Laces Spa, and BNI Europe Bank.

I love being able to live this exchange. During the pandemic, I had a serious knee injury while surfing, which led me to reflect on the potential of yoga for recovery. I sought healing through the tools I knew, and I studied even more about our body, emotions, and all their potential.

I've been exploring and understanding the physical and mental strength involved in various sports.

Today, reflecting on my entire journey, I leave here a bit of everything Yoga, the arts, and sports have done for me.

I feel like a more complete human being. And being more complete doesn't mean it’s only for the good. I’ve come to know very dark places and extremely bright ones within myself. It expanded me, helped me understand how human contradiction is. Humanity appears when mistakes are not hidden. If you eliminate fragility, you stop being human.

In search for balance, healing and answers to life’s purpose and meaning, Sky came to his first yoga class in 1990, and immediately felt at home and inspired to learn more.

His journey has led him to study several forms of yoga, including Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kundalini and the Chinese forms, Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

Over the years Sky has been educated in Ayurveda, studying 1 year with the master Dr. Vasant Lad, enriching his understanding of health and clear choices that support a balanced way of living. In 2001 he met his Guru, Swami Vagishananda, definitely the most  important and influential meeting of his life.  Finally there were clear answers to the purpose of life and what all the efforts and practices were for!  Blessed to be in close connection with his Guru, he continues to receive deep studies in Vedanta, sanskrit, mantras, Puja and all the yoga philosophy and values of the yogic tradition. This has given him a good grounding in the purpose and practices of Yoga as a way of achieving balance, harmony and total fulfillment in this life.

Since the year 2000 Sky has been teaching yoga full time and in 2005 established the Sama Yoga school, which leads Yoga Teacher Trainings and retreats in Sweden, Bali, Scotland and Greece.

Sky's classes are always spontaneous and deeply honoring of his students.  As he says, “I’m like the milkman, I just deliver the milk, fulfilling the sacred and even unspoken orders of the students.” Taught with relaxed passion, humor and clear understanding of the poses and their benefits, the Samayoga form is intuitive and taught from the heart.  It’s a very interesting, creative and fun form to practice. It looks like a Hatha Yoga flow, but spiced with Qi Gong and special mantras to open the heart.

Sky is certified by the Yoga Alliance. You can view his profile here.

At slow we’re gently getting there.
